The Date Yourself Project is personal creative series that follows my journey in taking myself out on 25 dates.
Launched in 2021, my goal of this series was to spend more intentional quality time in solitude, seizing the opportunity to learn more about myself, grow in confidence, and embrace my singleness. From participating in creative classes, going whale watching, and even attending a murder mystery dinner, each date was planned with thoughtfulness and consideration. Throughout this year long series, I documented my experiences on Instagram and compiled my footage into a reflective recap video, celebrating my personal growth and the confidence I had gained through this journey.

Date #1 – 🌻 Browsed the Sunday Farmer’s Market at the Claremont Village
Date #2 – 🪁 Flew a kite (after several failed attempts) at Nature Retreat Park in Chino
Date #3 – 🎨 Painted a ceramic water bowl for my dog at Color Me Mine in Downtown Brea
Date #4 – 🛍️ Went thrift shopping in Costa Mesa at The LAB Anti-Mall and The CAMP
Date #5 – 💘 Eventually enjoyed a chaotic Valentine’s Day at Newport Beach (see video for the run down)
Date #6 – ☕️ Grabbed a coffee at Morning Lavender and explored the Old Town Tustin Flea Market

Date #7 – 🌅 Watched the sunset with a picnic and some creative journaling at La Sierra Trailhead in Chino Hills
Date #8 – 🏙️ Explored the ROW DTLA creative space and retail district
Date #9 – 🛼 Attempted to roller skate at Pinehurst Park in Chino Hills (at least I didn’t fall!)
Date #10 – 🎨 Attended a painting class at Purple Easel Art Studio in Ontario

Date #11 – 🐣 Participated in the Downtown Disney Easter “Eggstravaganza” Scavenger Hunt
Date #12 – 👩🏻🍳 Learned how to make pasta at cooking class hosted by Sur La Table in Costa Mesa
Date #13 – 🌷 Missed my train ride home after a day of exploring Oceanside Pier and the Carlsbad Flower Fields
Date #14 – 🍷 Felt sick after wine tasting on an empty stomach at Fallbrook Winery & Vineyard

Date #15 – 🍩 Explored the Donut Life Interactive Pop-Up Museum in Orange County, then enjoyed a donut on the beach
Date #16 – 🐳 Went whale watching in Dana Point (and luckily did not get seasick!)
Date #17 – 🪴 Took a pottery and ceramics class at Artime Barro in Laguna Beach before attending the Festival of Arts
Date #18 – 🐷 Ate brunch at The Avocado House in Chino, then visited the animals at Amy’s Farm in Ontario
Date #19 – 🖼️ Checked out the local galleries and creatives at the Pomona Art Walk, held every second Saturday of the month
Date #20 – 👻 Dressed up with my dog as Lilo & Stitch to attend a Halloween Festival at 2nd & PCH in Long Beach

Date #21 – 🎭 Watched a performance of Mamma Mia! at The La Mirada Theatre of Performing Arts
Date #22 – 🛼 Strapped on my orange roller skates at Pigeon’s Roller Rink in Long Beach for their “Orange U Glad Skate Party”
Date #23 – 🕵🏻♀️ Attended The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show in Claremont, where I was crowned the winner for solving the mystery!
Date #24 – 🌆 Relived one of my first solo dates ever by taking the Metrolink to explore Downtown LA and visit The Broad Museum
Date #25 – 🌹 Closed out the series with a visit to Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens and the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena
